Cancel a booked spot

Some productions allow you to inform them that you will be cancelling your spot directly in Confirmed. Others don’t, or only allow cancellations up to a certain point before the show.

This article explains how cancelling works, what you’ll see, and what to do if self-service cancellation isn’t available.

Important to know first

Cancellation rules are set by the production, not globally by Confirmed.

That means:

  • Some productions allow self-service cancellation

  • Some do not allow cancellation in Confirmed at all

  • Some allow it only up to a time limit (for example, 24 or 48 hours before the show)

If self-service cancellation is disabled, you’ll need to contact the production directly. The information for the production contact can be found on your My Shows page.

When you can cancel a spot in Confirmed

If the production allows it, you’ll see a Cancel spot button on your booking.

Step-by-step

  1. Open your booking in Confirmed

  2. Click the red Cancel spot button

  3. A confirmation screen will appear

  4. Add a short comment explaining the reason (optional but recommended)

  5. You can also suggest a replacement act if you have one

  6. Confirm the cancellation

Once you confirm, the spot will be cancelled and the production will be notified with comment included with the notification

Time limits on cancellation

Some productions allow self-service cancellation only up to a certain point before the show.

For example:

  • You may be able to cancel yourself a day or two before

  • Closer to showtime, the cancel option may disappear

This is to prevent last-minute dropouts without direct communication. If cancellation is longer available, you must contact the production using another means, such as a phone call, an email, or a message to their website.

Why cancellation rules vary

Productions have different needs and policies:

  • Some need stricter cut-offs to protect lineups

  • Some prefer all cancellations to go through direct contact

  • Others allow full self-service for flexibility

Best practice if you need to cancel

  • Cancel as early as possible

  • Leave a clear, polite reason

  • Suggest a replacement if you can

  • If in doubt, message the production directly

Early communication is always appreciated. Cancellations are recorded in Confirmed, so productions are able to see when acts cancel frequently.
